The UWS Creative Media Academy is delighted to announce a new initiative called ‘Creative Wednesdays’.
Every Wednesday students and staff are invited to get involved with a series of creative activities, screenings, master classes and professional practice sessions designed to both inspire and prepare students for the real world of creative industry employment.
During the afternoon from 2-4pm, students will have the opportunity to either join Stuart Hepburn’s Studio Lab or sign up for Creative Web production workshops.
Please note only 3rd & 4th students can join theCreative Web production workshops. To join the workshops please send an email stating your name, programme of study and creative specialisms to the Student Enhancement Developers, Clare Duffin (email@example.com) and Rachael Flynn (Rachael.firstname.lastname@example.org).
We are currently compiling a mailing list and database of interested students for aboveCreative Web production workshops. Whilst there will be no formal workshop this coming week (01/09/2014) there will be opportunity to sign up for be included in this list. The firstCreative Web meeting will be held in the coming weeks and notice will be given to all those who have signed up for the Creative Web production workshops.
Following immediately after these workshops at 4-6pm, are the Media Academy talks and Professional Practice Sessions led by the Student Enhancement Developers.
With Oscar nominee and BAFTA winners visiting the campus, plus a very special session with the co-producer of Star Wars, these events are not to be missed!
All events will take place in Lecture Theatre 1 on the Ayr Campus.

Dec 3 – Professional Practice Session & Drinks: Networking
Please note the BAFTA event will take place at 2-4pm on October 15th.
Immediately following the Academy sessions students and staff can head down to the Students’ Union where an Open Mic session will run from 6pm onwards.

We look forward to seeing you all getting creative this Wednesday with the screening of the critically acclaimed prison drama ‘Starred Up’ followed by a Q&A with director David Mackenzie and producer Gillian Berrie kicking off the season.
