Advanced Songwriting and Performance Week

Advanced Songwriting and Performance

Advanced Songwriting and Performance is a level 9 module in the BA (Hons) Commercial Music programme – delivered in one intensive week of activities in the creative surroundings of Film City, Glasgow.

Working with industry professionals, students take part in co-writing exercises, write to prescribed briefs and use free time for self-directed song development, working towards a showcase performance event on day five which features the best of the week’s work. Lectures from songwriters, authors and filmmakers inform students practice as they hone new work towards coherent performance solutions.

Based in part on the creative hot-housing of the ‘songhouse’, Advanced Songwriting and Performance aims to engage students with professional level artistic practice.
