Working as a Writer in the 21st Century
Facebook, Twitter, Kindle, the iPad and social web sites – they’re altering the creative industries day by day, and publishing is no exception.
The Working as a Writer in the 21st Century conference in Edinburgh on Thursday 20th January, hosted by the Association of Scottish Literary Agents and supported by Creative Scotland, will raise questions about new media, social networking and the changing role of the author for the working writer today.
Speakers will include writers Janet Paisley and Nicola Morgan, and Jan Rutherford of Polygon/Birlinn and Jenny Todd of Canongate.
David Manderson of UWS has been invited to attend this event, which is open only to authors currently signed to a leading Scottish literary agency.
The conference will take place in the Scottish Book Trust headquarters, Sandeman House, on Edinburgh’s historic High Street.

Hi David, I’d be interested in attending the conference. Can you tell me what time it starts and if I need to get an invitation from somewhere. My agent is Stan at Jenny Brown Associates
